01 - Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a kettle or small saucepan.
02 - Add the tea bags or loose tea to the boiling water and steep for 3 to 4 minutes depending on your preferred strength.
03 - Remove the tea bags or strain out the loose tea leaves.
04 - Stir in freshly squeezed lemon juice and sweetener, if desired.
05 - Pour the tea into cups, garnish each with a lemon slice, and serve hot.
