01 - Slice and freeze ripe bananas in advance; measure all components before starting.
02 - Place frozen bananas, milk, unsweetened cocoa powder, creamy peanut butter, maple syrup or honey, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt into a blender.
03 - Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
04 - Sample the smoothie and add sweetener if a sweeter flavor is desired. Blend briefly to mix.
05 - Divide the finished smoothie between two glasses.
06 - Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and crushed peanuts as desired. Serve immediately while cold.
